I just looked through my Journal entries... Jeesh are they boring...
Well, I'm running CnC tomorrow night at my house. Should be fun. After playing Pathfinder at Kurt's last week, I really appreciate the fun of CnC. Pathfinder is a pretty good game (basically retooled DnD 3.5), but I prefer the more archetypical characters you get in CnC...

I haven't done much painting lately. I'm working on a Orcish shaman figure (old chainmail fig). After I get that done, I'll probably paint some historical of scifi stuff. Maybe some battletech mechs - I've been reading the Classic Battletech Total War rules through again.

My buddy Matt is moving tomorrow and I'll be helping. I'll probably bike over to where he lives now (Kurt's house), and they just ride in the Uhaul with him...

I finished painting a reaper Bugbear this morning.
40 minis purchased and 26 painted so far for 2009; current core -14.

I really need to get a new digital camera get some pics up of my recent projects.

On another note Lukash has gotten us involved in playtesting the advanced campaign rules for Songs of Blades and Heroes. We are going to get together Sunday evening. I think Mark and Kelly will be there too.

Oh, and I'm going over the Kurts to roleplay tonight. He is running the Pathfinder beta rules, not sure what it all involves, but it will get me out of the house and away from....

Well the CnC game Saturday night went good. It was nice to have everyone back together to play. There was some dilly-dallying, but it eventually got moving. I've posted a write up on the CnC Campaign Site.

I've finished painting two ogres. One cool reaper one, and one that is actually an old Ral Partha Fire Giant figure. I think that shows how much scale has creeped up in the past 25 years. The fire giant is now just the right size to fit in with my reaper ogres.

40 minis purchased and 25 painted so far for 2009; current core -15.

Well, I broke down and bought some more minis.  Wargames Factory has just realeased a box of multi-part plastic modern zombies, and I ordered a box. They will be great for Post-Apoc zombie hunts and are cheaper then hero clicks singles. I hope they are nice...

That of course puts me in quite a figure painting deficit - but I will persevere.
40 minis purchased and 23 painted so far for 2009; current core -17.

I finished painting up Kelly's '71 El Camino for our Post Apocalyptic Car Battle RPG . Turned out pretty cool - I'll post pics when I get new digital camera. I put a decal of a winged Ace of Hearts on it and over-painted that into an ace of spades.

It inspired me to download Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" from I-tunes.

That puts my at 16 minis purchased and 23 painted so far for 2009. (a score of  +7).

Tomorrow night we are restarting the CnC campaign. Should be fun.

Lukash and I played another game of Songs of Blades and Heroes last night.
I ran my same undisciplined and poorly led orc/goblin/bugbear force. Lukash switched things up and ran chaos warrior and beastmen force using models from his ridiculously huge 3rd Edition GW stuff.

Another great game, though I got beaten pretty soundly. One Gruesome kill caused the death of two leaders and soon most of my warband was running for the hills.

I'm going to David City tomorrow to play a British in Sudan miniatures game with my buddy Bill Johnson.

Well, I've just finished up spray varnishing (dullcote) the three mounted normans/first crusaders. I also finished up Jeff's '48 ford truck for White Line Nightmare . They all turned out great.

That puts my at 16 minis purchased and 22 painted so far for 2009. (a score of  +6).

Saturday night I didn't get anything ready so we played board games instead. Kurt had a new game called Unspeakable Words, which was pretty fun. We played a couple of games of that and then a two lap race of Formula D (Susan won).
We discussed restarting the Forgotten Realms/CnC campaign, and everyone seemed to be in favor of it. So I'll start getting stuff ready for that.

Just about finished with the 3 mounted normans (2 done except for basing, one about 1/2 way done).

I also started finishing up a car ('48 Ford Truck) actually for our White Line Nightmare rpg/car battle game. Its for my friend Jeff's character Roy (who seems to always have zombies trying to get into his truck).

Since I no longer have a reason to celebrate Valentine's Day, I'm having most of the gang over to game. I promised to GM a game. I'm either going to do a Savage Worlds one-shot sci-fi thing based on one of the Cthulhu Rising free modules, or dust off the Castles and Crusades campaign... I'll need to get everything ready this evening and tomorrow afternoon.

Tonight I'm going to walk over to the Saddle Creek Bar and see some punk bands. We are supposed to get 4 - 5 inches of snow, so it shouldn't be crowded.

I broke down last night and bought a miniature. I picked up a GW Space Marine scout bike which I'm going to convert into a Post-apoc bike for White Line Nightmare. The model comes with lots of options and useful bits I can use on other projects. I plan to work on it as soon as I finish off the three mounted 1st crusades/norman guys I'm working on.

That puts my at 16 minis purchased and 18 painted so far for 2009. (a score of  +2).
